Gorilla Smash Club (GSC) is built on passion, discipline, and the pure love of sport. Founded with a vision to create a unique and high-performance sporting ecosystem, the club focuses on nurturing talent, building character, and creating a strong, inclusive club culture across all age groups.
Founder – Dr. Samarjith Baskaran
Dr. Samarjith Baskaran is a passionate sports enthusiast and a multi-venture businessman with a clear vision to build a club that represents excellence, integrity, and opportunity. Driven by his love for sport, he founded Gorilla Smash Club to create a structured platform where players can grow through professional coaching, clinics, and competitive exposure.
With relentless dedication, countless late nights of planning, and hands-on involvement, Dr. Samarjith has invested time, effort, and resources to build the club from the ground up. His vision is to develop players from under-age categories to senior levels, support them in tournament participation, and foster a culture that brings out individual abilities while keeping the game rooted in purity, respect, and passion.
The club works closely with players across training, development programs, coaching support, and clinics, ensuring holistic growth both on and off the court.
Co-Founder & Team Manager – Reynold Xavier
Reynold Xavier is a deeply passionate pickleball player who lives and breathes the sport. His love for the game translates into his commitment to Gorilla Smash Club, where he plays a key role in managing tournaments, team operations, and overall coordination.
As the Team Manager, Reynold oversees tournament participation, player management, and logistical operations, ensuring smooth execution and strong team unity. His on-ground experience, dedication, and player-first approach strengthen the club's competitive edge and community spirit.
Our Story
Built Through Fire
Gorilla Smash Club was not built in comfort. It was built through struggle, pain, belief, and an unbreakable love for the game.
Both founders walked a journey filled with intense ups and downs. There were moments when things fell apart—trust was lost, efforts were questioned, and the club faced circumstances that made us look small, misunderstood, and written off. We faced setbacks that shook our confidence and moments where the club stood on the edge of shutting down completely.
There were attempts to pull us apart. There were times when everything we had built felt fragile. But even in those darkest moments, we refused to let the vision die.
Instead of giving up, we chose to stand back up—together.
We took responsibility for our failures, learned from every mistake, and worked silently to rebuild what was broken. We returned with stronger tournaments, better systems, deeper transparency, and a renewed commitment to the players who believed in us. Against all odds at the local level, we brought back a tournament that restored faith and proved that resilience can outshine doubt.
Today, Gorilla Smash Club is not just a club—it is a comeback story. A symbol of unity, strength, and belief. What once stood on the verge of collapse now stands stronger, supported by a growing community and driven by purpose.
